Working Principle Of Fluorine-lined Gate Valve

Lined Gate Valve is widely used in pipes through which water passes, mainly for cutting off flow. Gate valves, like butterfly valves, also have different classification methods. According to the structure, they can be divided into rising stem gate valves and dark stem gate valves; according to the sealing surface, they can be divided into hard-sealed gate valves and elastic seat soft-sealed gate valves; according to the connection form, there are flange gate valves, welded gate valves, etc. Users can choose which valve to choose according to their working conditions. Although there are many classifications of gate valves, their working principles are the same, including the structural diagram of the gate valve.

Working principle of gate valve:

The gate valve can only be fully opened or closed, and cannot be used as a valve to regulate flow. Its working principle is that the gate moves up and down with the valve stem, and there is a trapezoidal thread on the valve stem. The up and down movement of the valve stem is achieved by the nut at the top of the valve and the guide groove on the valve body. The movement direction of the gate is perpendicular to the flow direction of the fluid medium in the pipeline.

Opening of the gate valve:

The fully open state of the gate valve cannot be checked during operation, especially the dark stem gate valve. The open state of the open valve stem can be judged by observing the position of the exposed valve stem, and the concealed stem gate valve is generally regarded as a sign of full opening until it cannot be opened. However, considering that it may be locked due to temperature changes, the gate valve is generally opened to the bottom, that is, when the gate valve cannot be opened, it is turned about 1/2 turn, because the gate valve is fully opened.

Closing of the gate valve:

After the gate valve is closed, it can be self-sealed and forced sealed. Self-sealing means that the sealing surface can only be sealed by medium pressure. However, most gate valves still use forced sealing, that is, when the gate valve is closed, the gate must be pressed on the valve seat with external force to ensure the sealing performance of the sealing surface. Generally, the sealing performance of the gate valve is better than that of the butterfly valve.
