Valve Components Terminology

1. Lined Valve

Parts that are directly connected to the pipeline (or machinery and equipment) and form the flow channel for the medium.

2. Bonnet (bonnet, cover, cap, lid)

Main parts that are connected to the valve body and form the pressure chamber with the valve body (or through other parts, such as diaphragms, etc.).

3. Opening and closing parts (disc)

4. Disc (disc)

Opening and closing parts in valves such as stop valves, throttle valves, and check valves.

5. Valve seat (bodyseat ring, shoulder seated, bottom seat)

Parts installed on the valve body and forming a sealing pair with the opening and closing parts.

6. Sealing face (sealing face)

7. Valve stem (stem, apindle)

Main parts that transmit the opening and closing force to the opening and closing parts.

8. Stem nut (yoke bushing, yoke nut)

Parts that form a kinematic pair with the valve stem thread.

9. Stuffing box

A structure filled with stuffing on the valve cover (or valve body) to prevent the medium from leaking from the valve stem.

10. Stuffing box

A part filled with stuffing to prevent the medium from leaking from the valve stem.

11. Gland, gland flange, pne-piece glang

A part used to compress the stuffing to achieve sealing.

12. Packing (packing, packing rings)

A filler installed in the stuffing box (or stuffing box) to prevent the medium from leaking from the double valve stem.

13. Packing seat (packing washer)

A part that supports the stuffing and keeps the stuffing sealed.
