Lined Butterfly Valve is used in many working conditions. Its application range is wide. In addition to general industrial use, it is also used in the cooling water system of power stations. We know that wafer-type and flange-type are two connection methods for valve products. So what is the difference between wafer-type fluorine-lined butterfly valves and flange-type butterfly valves?

The valve body of the flange-type butterfly valve is connected with flanges and connected to the pipe flanges. However, there are no flanges at both ends of the wafer-type fluorine-lined butterfly valve, only guide bolt holes, which are connected by bolts or nuts. Wafer-type fluorine-lined butterfly valves are relatively cheap, and the bolts are longer, and the precision is relatively high during the production process. If the construction is not handled properly, it is easy to cause leakage.

In comparison, the wafer-type fluorine-lined butterfly valve is easier to disassemble, and the valve cost is lower, but the disadvantage is that if there is a problem with one sealing surface, both sealing surfaces must be disassembled. The flange-type butterfly valve seal is relatively more reliable, but the valve cost is relatively high. Moreover, wafer-type fluorine-lined butterfly valves are generally not suitable for the end of the pipeline and downstream where they need to be disassembled, because when the downstream flange is disassembled, the wafer-type valve will fall off. In this case, a short section must be made for disassembly. Flange-type butterfly valves do not have the above problems, but the cost will be higher. The bolts of wafer-type valves are generally longer. Under high temperature conditions, the expansion of the bolts may cause leakage, so they are not suitable for large diameter pipes under high temperature conditions.
